Having A Bird Bath Heater

March 3, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Providing bird bath heater will increase the number of birds in your yard. A bird bath will bring more birds to your yard and increase the different species of birds. Feeding birds is great but you will attract the only birds that eat your food, while all birds like bird baths.

A bird bath that is shallow, having a depth of no more than three inches, is best for the birds. Commercially-made bird baths are often deeper than they should be. If your bird bath is too deep, you can still use it by putting stones into it to lessen the depth.

If you really want to go the extra mile in attracting birds into your garden with your bird bath you should consider adding a fountain. Birds naturally like the sound of falling or dripping water.

You should make sure that your bird bath has a non-slip bottom so that the birds that use it aren’t in danger of losing their footing.

Hot weather makes daily water changes more important even with bird bath heaters

Birds will only use a bird bath if they feel safe so making it difficult for predators to reach, by placing the bird bath on some kind of stand or hanging it from a tree, is very important.

If you enjoy watching birds, you can install a bird bath in your garden which will provide pleasure for yourself as well as the birds. Make sure that your bird bath is installed somewhere where you’ll be able to comfortably view it from a window.

Enjoy your birds!
